Acupuncture Can Remedy Infertility
from: Oze ParrotThere are over six million people in the United States that are affected by infertility, the condition that renders couples incapable of having a child. People that seek medical advice, after unsuccessfully trying to conceive for twelve months, are deemed to be infertile.
Either partner can have a fertility problem, and in certain cases, both parties have contributing factors that cause them to be infertile. Some infertility causes amongst men are, those who cannot produce sperm, their sperm count is very low or their sperm cells are weak and cannot reach the female egg.
Common infertility causes amongst women are, obstructions in the fallopian tubes, their ovaries are not producing eggs or their eggs are very small and cannot be fertilized. Some women also suffer from physical defects that are quite unapparent, until discovered during a medical examination.
Modern medical treatments for infertility, of course, depend on the problem, but generally they consist of prescription drugs to treat ovulation problems in women, or sperm production problems in men. Surgery may be used to fix any physical problems in either party. Then if copulation is definitely not going to produce any results, In Vitro Fertilization may be used to implant a fertilized egg in the woman's womb.
Acupuncture is an alternative medical treatment that the Chinese have practiced for thousands of years, and in recent times it has been adopted by many other nations, where it's popularity as an effective, natural remedy has increased. Many millions of Americans have embraced acupuncture therapy, and today many doctors practice acupuncture and use it in conjunction with conventional medical treatments.
Acupuncture is being used as a drug free alternative to treat all kinds of ailments including, infertility. Any type of fertility problem can be successfully treated with acupuncture therapy and herbal medicines. An experienced acupuncturist can effectively treat women with irregular menstrual cycles, ovulation problems and those with a tendency to miscarry. Similarly men can have sperm production problems corrected. Couples that cannot conceive because of an unknown compatibility problem, can also be assisted by getting acupuncture treatment and taking herbal medicines.
Research has shown that the most positive results have been achieved when acupuncture and herbal medicines are used in conjunction with, traditional medical fertility treatments. Couples who have no alternative, and decide to have In Vitro Fertilization procedure, are urged to have the woman receive acupuncture therapy before and after the medical operation. Ideally, weekly acupuncture therapy would commence about six weeks before the IVF procedure and continue on a weekly basis until at least the fourth month of pregnancy to counter the risk of miscarriage.
