Acupuncture And Healthy Nutrition

By: Oze Parrot

The human body requires a daily intake of seven essential groups of nutrients for it to obtain the nourishment that it needs, in order to maintain health and vitality. The essential groups of nutrients consist of carbohydrates, fats, fiber, minerals, proteins, vitamins, and water. Each one of these groups are made up of many different components, the excess or lack of one or more of these nutrients, can have devastating affects on the body's performance.

A poor diet can have negative effects on the body's health, which could lead to ailments such as, diabetes, heart disease, skin disorders, obesity or kidney failure, as well as depression and anxiety. On the other hand, the constant intake of useless or toxic elements that contain no health benefits, can lead to various ailments and possibly an early grave.

Most common ailments and their painful symptoms can be eased or even prevented by radically altering one's diet. Nutritional study groups have determined that a balanced, nourishing diet does have a positive effect on a person's health. People that have been trained from an early age to eat nourishing food containing the essential nutrients, exercise regularly outdoors and absorb adequate sunlight will maintain a health body. People who practice these habits will live longer and enjoy a rewarding lifestyle.

Chinese traditional medicine considers that a poor diet will cause imbalances in the body, which will develop into pain related symptoms. Ultimately, these imbalances will cause the body's organs to malfunction, which will lead to the general deterioration of the body's overall performance. If the body's balance is not restored then a person is destined for a life of chronic illness.

Acupuncture, has been successfully used by the Chinese for thousands of years to treat imbalances in the body, some of which, have been caused by an unstable diet. By inserting extremely fine needles into the body at specific acupuncture points, an experienced acupuncturist is able to restore the free flow of qi, which allows the body to heal itself. A prolonged period of poor eating habits and lack of essential nutrients will detrimentally affect the body's performance. Consequently, an acupuncturist will conduct a series of acupuncture treatments, in order to reestablish the free flow of qi to the body's vital organs. During the acupuncture treatment the practitioner may recommend herbal teas and medications to complement the acupuncture therapy.

Patients receiving acupuncture therapy will feel positive effects from the treatment after the first month, when the body's organs start to function properly again. Herbal teas and medicines will provide the necessary nutrients to get the digestive system back on track and restore the body to a healthy state. This is particularly evident when the body's ailments have been caused by poor eating habits.
