Acupuncture Therapy

Acupuncture Is For Everyone

Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine that has been used in China for many thousands of years. People once relied solely on needle therapy and herbal remedies for the relief of pain, back injuries as well as many other ailments. Today, this natural treatment is practiced in most parts of the world and is available to anyone that believes in it's benefits.

It must be noted that acupuncture therapy, is a sophisticated medical procedure that has been systematically developed over time. This alternative treatment, does have certain disciplines that are rigidly enforced by professionally trained, experienced, and reputable practitioners. This effective, Chinese therapy is most certainly not quackery or witchcraft.

People that are leery of having a number of needles inserted simultaneously into their bodies, should reflect upon the many millions of patients that are enjoying continued relief from illness and suffering, by receiving this type of treatment. Acupuncture is a safe, drug free natural therapy that has no side effects. There is no other medical treatment being used today that has been successfully applied for over five thousand years.

As traditional Chinese medicine spread throughout Asia, newly trained practitioners experimented with a variety of needles and methods of treatment to develop new techniques. Because of this, there are some practitioners that use techniques that vary from the traditional Chinese method.

Japanese acupuncturists use smaller needles, which don't intrude very far into the body, thus causing only minimal discomfort. The method of treatment is divided into two parts, local and root. The local method is used to relieve aches and pains generally, whereas the root method is used to treat the cause of the discomfort or ailment. For long term effects both methods are used simultaneously. Acu-points are determined by the sensitivity of the practitioners fingers. Before treatment begins an experienced Japanese style practitioner will determine the acu-points by placing his hands on the patient.

The Korean style, is a derivative of Chinese acupuncture and departs from the traditional Chinese method by applying some unique techniques. Saam, a Buddhist monk, developed a unique form of the art that seems to be far simpler than the traditional treatment, as it uses only sixty acu-points that are located mostly on the limbs.

Korean acupuncturists also consider the hands to be a map of the body containing acu-points that refer to the entire body. Similarly, Auricular needling uses specific points of the ears to treat ailments in all parts of the body. This form of natural therapy is particularly useful in the treatment of drug addicts and alcoholics.

Traditional acupuncture therapy is comparatively inexpensive, requires only basic tools and does not utilize any expensive technical equipment.
